Terry and Neil have a very successful business partnership in YACHT PROTECT SERVICES – each bringing their own expertise to the table and both being extremely passionate about their company. It has had an amazingly successful history, over a short period, and is now geared for an equally (if not more) successful future!!
Terry started his career working in a Sales and Marketing role for a American conglomerate textile company at their manufacturing site based in Kent, England. After a phenomenally successful start he was promoted and moved to their office based in the centre of Manchester. This career in textiles lasted over 50 years and it eventually resulted in him co- owning his own textile manufacturing company with an average turnover of over £10 million.
This extensive textile background means that Terry brings a special expertise to the business and the industry that’s quite unique. His understanding and experience working with a multitude of different textiles and fabrics means that he offers clients a knowledgeable and quick response.

He is an affable guy who enjoys meeting lots of different people through the business – his other passions are boats, football, golf and his wife and 3 grandchildren!! (not necessarily in that order!!)
Neil after briefly training as a chef in the hotel industry in Blackpool, he decided this was not the career for him and pursued an alternative career in logistics, initially working for an educational supplier before moving to a major catalogue retailer. After starting on the shop floor Neil quickly moved up the ranks and started to study for a degree in logistics. Neil went on to take several senior roles working for some of the UK’s largest logistics companies in charge of £30 million budgets. Neil was focused on driving cost saving initiatives with the overall proviso to improve the service standards to clients.
Neil complements Terry’s enthusiastic personality with an easy demeanour and calculated approach to all things. He has also been involved within the Marine Fire Protection field for over 15 years and processes excellent IT skills.
This gives them a perfect partnership.
Neil is family man with 3 children and is an ardent Manchester United supporter and keen golfer! He enjoys nothing more than beating Terry on the golf course.
When we started our business in the Marine Fire Protection industry back in 2010, there were only two companies providing this service and both were based in the North of England, but they could only offer limited availability and flexibility to most of the yachting markets.
Neil had been trained by one of the companies so was able to identify ways in which we could drastically improve the response time to client yachts within the industry and make a very rapid improvement on the service.
Having recognised the other companies deficiencies we decided the best marketing strategy was to select suitable partners in all the key locations. We devised a list of requirements and spent time travelling to each of the principal areas to search out suitable candidates whose overriding skills had to be in the marine carpet and upholstery cleaning business.
We found our first in Genoa and it soon became clear that local guys with their local language and speed of response would add further benefits to our burgeoning business successes. Very quickly and after lengthy travels we added France, the USA, Spain, and Turkey and today have more than 16 partner companies as far afield as USA to Antigua, Holland to Cypress and everywhere between to respond quickly and efficiently to yacht needs.
Each of them is a professional within the Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning or textile related field, with a long and successful background.
Each year we join them on a treatment to ensure they continue to maintain the standards we expect. The results are recorded for annual audit purposes.
We are exceptionally proud of all of them and their continued support throughout the years. We believe this respect to be mutual as we have an excellent record of partner retention.
